Part of the development plan will be changed to increase the number of cultural facilities and create a waterfront in Incheon Songdo International City's 6th and 8th tools.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 28th that it will change its plan to develop and implement Songdo District 6 and 8 within this year.

The main changes are ▲ Songdo District 8 Cultural Facility New ▲ Waterfront North Connection Road Construction ▲ Songdo Moonlight Park Festival Station and Youth Training Facility Improvement ▲ One-year extension of the development project period (until 2022.

The new cultural facility site is a measure taken after the Incheon Economic Administration and Yeonsu-gu agreed to reduce waste treatment facilities and create complex cultural facilities to increase residents' convenience facilities lacking in Songdo's 6th and 8th tools.

In addition, part of the land and field park in Section 6 will be changed to a waterway park to create a waterfront connecting waterway. The road around Songdo Moonlight Park Festival Station on Incheon Subway Line 1 will be expanded and the road structure in front of the youth training facility site in Section 8 will be improved for smooth traffic.

Lee Won-jae, head of the Incheon Economic Administration, said, "Through this change in the development plan, we will expand cultural leisure facilities that are insufficient for Songdo's 6th and 8th tools and ensure that the Songdo waterfront project is carried out smoothly."

The total length of the waterfront, which connects Songdo International City Lake and the waterway in a square shape, is 16km long and 40-500m wide, with a total project cost of 621.5 billion KRW.
