As the market opens to enable mid- and large-sized companies to participate in the Ascon industry, SG announced on the 11th that it will strategically enter the national Ascon market by shifting to a management strategy that focuses on the company's core competency, "asphalt concrete."

On December 31 last year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced an improved system to allow mid-sized Ascon companies to participate in public bidding in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam from 2022.

SG decided to sell all of its "Remicon" business units, which are currently enjoying an unprecedented boom in urban development projects in the Seoul metropolitan area, innovatively reorganizing their business structure, and focusing cash liquidity on SG's parent sectors, "Ascon" and "eco-friendly business."

As an outpost for nationwide expansion, SG signed a contract on the 7th to acquire Daemyung Ascon, located in Sejong Special Self-Governing City. Sejong City, which is currently undergoing urban development by about 60%, is expected to have many favorable developments in the future.

In addition, Daemyung Ascon is expected to serve as a bridgehead for M&A expansion as demand sources such as Daejeon City Hall, Chungcheongbuk-do City Hall, and Cheongju City Hall are located within a radius of 30km.

Starting with the acquisition of Daemyung Ascon, it is time to implement aggressive M&A and accelerate the commercialization of Eco Steel Ascon, an SG official said. "The grace period for installing eco-friendly facilities ends in 2021 and plans to distribute 'EGR+' to domestic Ascon factories in earnest."

Meanwhile, SG aims to enter overseas ascon markets such as China and the United States in the future and grow into a global ascon company such as COLAS in France, which is an advanced asphalt country.
