The second Gyeongin Line, which was promoted in conjunction with the establishment of Cheonghak Station in Yeonsu-gu, will begin in earnest. In addition, Goyang extension of Incheon Metro Line 2, Geomdan-Daegok Metropolitan Road, Gyeyang and Daejang's Metropolitan High Speed Bus System (S-BRT), and Songdo, Incheon City Hall, and Bupyeong Transfer Center on GTX B Line will speed up.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Metropolitan Transport Committee announced on the 6th that it has finalized the 4th Metropolitan Transport Implementation Plan (2021-2025) after deliberation by the Metropolitan Transport Committee.

The second Gyeongin Line is a 21.9km route that runs from Cheonghak Station to Noonsa, Gwangmyeong, through Nonhyeon, Dorim and Seochang districts, with a project cost of 1.6879 trillion KRW. It is connected to Guro, Sindorim, and Noryangjin in Seoul. Its goal is to open it in the first half of 2029. The second Gyeongin election is a pledge by Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun, as well as a pledge by Yoon Kwan-seok (Namdong) of the Democratic Party of Korea, as well as Park Chan-dae (Yeon Soo-gap) and Maeng Sung-kyu (Nam Dong-gap).

The plan also includes a plan to extend the Ilsan Seo-gu, Goyang on Line 2 of Incheon Line, to expand the transportation network in the northwestern part of the Seoul metropolitan area. Its total project cost is KRW 1.31 trillion, which is 13.68km. It is divided between Dokjeong Station and Wanjeong Station in Seo-gu, passing through the Geolpo Bukbyeon Station on the Gimpo Gold Line and leading to Ilsan. In Ilsan, it is possible to transfer to GTX-A, Seoul Subway Line 3, and Gyeongui Central Line.

Additional projects include the extension of Anyang on Incheon Line 2, Cheongna on Seoul Line 2, and Gimpo Gumdan on Seoul Line 5. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will finalize the project to connect the Seoul Line 2 Cheongna Extension Line from Bucheon Daejang to Hongdae, and then push it as an optimal alternative after consultation with local governments. In addition, the extension of Gimpo Gumdan on Seoul Line No. 5 plans to conduct feasibility analysis once an agreement is reached between local governments on routes and vehicle bases.

In addition, a 3.04-kilometer-long metropolitan road linking Daegok-dong, Seo-gu, and Masan-dong, Gimpo, is expected to be established to eliminate traffic jams between Incheon Geomdan and Gimpo.

In particular, the plan also includes a route linking Gyeyang Techno Valley (TV) and Bucheon Daejang (Bucheon Sports Complex), the third new city, and a two-way S-BRT route connecting Parkchon Station in Incheon's Gyeyang district to Gimpo Airport. S-BRT is a groundbreaking public transportation system that enables three-dimensional intersections or applies priority signals through dedicated driving paths separated from external vehicles to secure punctuality within two minutes of scheduled arrival time.

In addition, three other transit centers in Songdo International City, Incheon City Hall Station and Bupyeong Station have been finalized.

A city official said, "We will hold detailed consultations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the relevant local governments so that the projects that have entered the plan can be carried out well." "We will make regional development possible with these transportation networks," he said.
