SG, which achieved its goal of topping the Ascon industry in Incheon and was listed on KOSDAQ for the first time in the Ascon industry in 2018, has grown into a mid-sized company with sales of 150 billion KRW and 250 employees as of the end of 2019.

With constant research and aggressive management, SG has now set a vision to grow into a representative company in Incheon by achieving annual sales of 1 trillion won. To this end, the company is seeking to advance from existing Ascon, Remicon, construction, and environmental businesses to various businesses such as real estate development and cultural contents.

Park Chang-ho(49) who experienced the IMF financial crisis and founded SG in 2000, is dreaming of creating a cradle for South Korea's content that will lay the foundation for SG today and dominate the world in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

CEO Park Chang-ho said, "We have created opportunities in the two previous crises. "We will successfully create Eurwangsan IFUS Hill, which produces K-content, which is currently a global trend, to grow into a company that represents KRW 1 trillion in annual sales and Incheon."

Seo-gu, Incheon, where SG is located, has 16 ascon companies out of 19 companies in Incheon. Although it is considered a symbol of harmful air environment, it is the only listed company in Korea in the Ascon industry, which is an essential support project for building urban infrastructure, and is showing keen interest in improving eco-friendly facilities and air environment.

In June last year, it signed a business agreement with the Seo-gu Office to research eco-friendly ascon facilities and was selected as a government-sponsored project to commercialize eco-friendly facilities and secure track records. Under the revision of the Enforcement Rules of the Air Conservation Act, SG completed the development of Korea's first Ascon eco-friendly facility (EGR+) and domestic patent registration in February as emission standards for first-class carcinogens emitted during the ascon production process have been strengthened since January last year.

EGR+ showed 98% emission reduction efficiency of air pollutants such as benzoe (a) Florence, benzene, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde, which are first-class carcinogens, according to a test of air pollutants by the Ministry of Environment. EGR+ is the only eco-friendly facility in Korea that meets both air pollutants and specific air pollutants emission standards. In recognition of its performance verification, it is taking the lead in developing technologies for Ascon eco-friendly facilities by additionally registering improved patents for compatibility in February this year.

Park Chang-ho said, "The Clean West Agreement and the government's Green New Deal policy are also a result of preemptive responses to protecting residents' living rights and improving awareness of the Ascon industry."

Starting with China and the U.S., which have completed supplying EGR+ to South Korean Ascon companies by next year, SG is planning to actively enter foreign markets.

The results of eco-friendly research have also been shown by commercialization of eco-steel ascon. Eco Steel Ascon is an eco-friendly product that reduces fine dust while increasing strength and durability with a new technology that maximizes the performance of Ascon by using steel slag that occurs during the steel mill production process instead of natural aggregate. Based on its high-strength characteristics, it has more than twice the public life span compared to general ascon, optimized for lanes and large heavy-vehicle traffic areas, and is suitable for densely populated areas such as apartments and residential areas. Developed countries such as 77% in Australia, 62% in the U.S., 46% in Europe, and 35% in Japan have long used slag used for eco-steel ascones as a road pavement material.

As a result of continuing research and development of Eco Steel Ascon, SG completed packaging construction at the bus stop in front of Yongsan Police Station in Seoul and the E1 container terminal in the southern port of Incheon. Due to frequent underground penetration of seawater, the underground road at Michuhol-gu, which is difficult to maintain, has also been successfully constructed at the BMW Driving Center's Circular Course site in Yeongjong Island, which requires high-level road pavement construction.

SG aims to commercialize eco-steel ascon in South Korea, which is worth 1.4 trillion KRW annually, with sales of 50% and 700 billion KRW.

Chairman Park Chang-ho is actively promoting real estate development and cultural contents projects along with listing on KOSDAQ in 2018. As the next-generation main project to cope with the rapidly changing paradigm of the fourth industrial revolution, it cited the entry into the cultural contents business through the development project of Eurwangsan Aipus Hill, Yeongjong International City, Incheon Free Economic Zone.

Mt.Eurwang, near Incheon International Airport Terminal 1, will be fostered as a convergence industry for video, culture and tourism that is essential for realizing marine, leisure, and cultural and artistic contents, a vision strategy for Incheon Free Economic Zone. The video and cultural contents sectors are the core of the fourth industrial revolution with economic effects and added value, and are considered a representative job creation project with higher employment inducement factors than other industries.

The K-content industry already has a unique position in the world. OTT, an Internet content provider, is growing rapidly in line with COVID-19, but production conditions are not keeping up with it.IFUS Hill is considered the best alternative at a time when it is urgent to expand public infrastructure for the video industry. SG established SG Industrial Development Co., Ltd. to make it a base for the K-content industry by utilizing the damaged terrain of Mt.Eurwangsan and is making efforts to create a convergence video culture and tourism complex centered on complex video studios.
