The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced on the 2nd that the Incheon Gyeyang Techno Valley public housing district, the 7th popular election pledge, will be approved and announced on the 3rd of this month for the first time in the 3rd new city.

Gyeyang District in Incheon was designated in October 2019 along with three new cities in other regions, including Wangsuk 1, 2, Hanam Gyosan and Gwacheon, and was the first of the three new cities to receive approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Through the approval of the district plan, the city explained that it secured 25% of residential land, 27% of park green areas (4 times Yeouido Park), 22% of self-sufficient land (17 times Pangyo Techno Valley), and 24% of other public facilities land.

In order to realize a pleasant settlement environment and work and life balance, they stressed that will speed up the creation of a self-sufficient city and a new space for future generations.

The city expects to attract high-tech industries such as ICT and digital contents to self-sufficient land as well as residential space in Incheon's Gyeyang district to create industrial clusters in connection with high-tech industrial areas such as 'Incheon D.N.A. Innovation valley' (Songdo~Jemulpo~Gyeyang~Magok) and Sangam DMC, Magok M Valley.

The total number of houses is 17,000 with 6,000 units, 35% of the total number of houses planned as integrated public rental houses, and 2,800 units of public housing will be set up to contribute to the stability of the housing of the working class.

In order to minimize traffic inconvenience for residents in Gyeyang district in Incheon, the city will expand National Road Line 39 (Bermal-ro) and Gyeongmyeong-daero, which are currently under design, to secure sufficient road capacity.

It plans to establish S-BRT, a new means of transportation linked to nearby railway lines, and strengthen accessibility to the wide-area transportation network by establishing an IC for the Incheon International Airport Expressway.

"The Incheon Gyeyang district will be the cornerstone of Incheon's development by attracting high-tech industries and securing high-quality jobs by overlapping urban high-tech industrial complexes," said Jeong Dong-seok, director of the Incheon Metropolitan City Planning Bureau.
