Ascon and ready-mixed concrete manufacturing company SG announced on the 28th that it was selected as a support project for 'Commercialization of Environmental Facilities for Clean Air Green New Business' organized by the Ministry of Environment as part of the government's Green New Deal policy.

Green New Deal Ascon's eco-friendly project is a support project for commercialization of ascon eco-friendly facilities for removing certain air pollutants and odors, including first-class carcinogens exclusively for the Korea Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology. Government subsidies and private contributions will be made up of 50 percent each.

SG's ascon eco-friendly facility EGR+ (Exhaust Gas Recycling) completed patent registration for ascon eco-friendly facilities for the first time in Korea in February this year, and is the only ascon eco-friendly facility in Korea that meets the criteria for emission of specific air pollutants announced by the Ministry of Environment.

"SG is planning to install eco-friendly facilities through the Green New Deal project at its Ascon plant in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province," an SG official said. "We are currently discussing eco-friendly facility contracts with a total of eight Ascon companies, including five in the Seoul metropolitan area and three in the Chungcheong region."

"The Green New Deal project will serve to accelerate the nationwide spread of Ascon eco-friendly facilities," he added.
